In the explicit non-explanation you gave, I, perhaps like jellicle, specifically do not understand why you think centrally-managed bureaucratic planning is superior to a free-market solution in which the person who benefits is given control over how they spend their allocation of capital. You say that the free-market solution isn’t “necessary”, which is clearly correct, but the argument in favour of free markets is never that they’re “necessary”, but rather that they are a) allegedly more efficient, and b) allegedly ethically superior ceteris paribus.
I mean, I don’t understand why you think it’s superior, except for reasons of “optics” (“becomes possible for pundits to agitate…”).
